Cuvée Henri is a tribute to Gunther’s grandfather. Henri De Grom (1912-1989) and his brother Alfons (1921-1999) started Glashandel De Grom in 1955 and in this way passed on the entrepreneurial blood to their grandchildren. Today, Glas De Grom is a leading company as a supplier, processor and installer of high-quality glass products and is led by the third generation, Tom De Grom. Sommelier Gunther prides himself on following in his grandfather’s footsteps: he also sells glass. With each “glass” bottle of this Champagne, he wants to remember him honorably.

The vineyards in the Aube department benefit from a semi-continental climate and are predominantly on soils of marl, limestone and clay. This special terroir allows us to produce champagnes with finesse and elegance.
Cuvée Henri is a so-called Brut – Blanc de Blancs. Brut means that the dose of sugar in the liqueur d’expedition is only 9 grams / liter and feels dry in the mouth. Blanc de Blancs literally means: white wine from white grapes only. In addition to Chardonnay, other white grape varieties (such as Arbane, Petit Meslier and Pinot Blanc) may also be processed in the Champagne appellation. This cuvée consists exclusively of Chardonnay grapes.
In the nose we immediately discover the typical brioche scent but also fine floral aromas. The fresh start in the mouth is enhanced by the fine bubbles and provides instant fresh fruity notes of citrus and grapefruit.
